87 year old patient with a large non-healing ulcer on the medial aspect of her ankle. Patient was treated at a state-run facility for 4 years with no improvement. There were concerns regarding possible amputation.
Lower limb was hot and malodorous. Patient experienced extreme pain and was immobile.
BluLyte wound care was used to clean the entire limb prior to packing the wound with non-sterile gauze and soaking with BluLyte for 10 minutes. No odour detected after the 10 minute soak.
1 week later the patient no longer required analgesia.
After only 4 months of treatment, patient is completely pain free and the wound is healed
