65 year old patient underwent amputation of his big toe. A few days post-operatively, on 15th May 2023, he was taken back to theatre for debridement of the wound.
The patient was discharged home where he cared for his wound using BluLyte Wound Cleanser and BluLyte Nanogel.
Method:
Spray the affected area with BluLyte Cleanser and pat dry using soft gauze.
Soak a second piece of soft gauze with BluLyte Cleanser and place in the wound for 10 mins ( the 10 minute contact time is essential to ensure a completely clean wound bed)
Remove the gauze
Apply a thin layer of BluLyte Nanogel into the wound. Wait for it to dry thus providing a thin film layer over the wound.
Once dry, apply a layer of soft gauze and a loose bandage in order for the wound to breathe.
Repeat twice daily
The patient suffered from extreme anxiety as he was convinced that this wound was not going to heal and he feared losing his whole foot.
His progress in 3 weeks using a combination of BluLyte Wound Cleanser and BluLyte Nanogel has been quite remarkable.
