Mild abrasions, insect bites and sunburn:

Spray the affected area liberally with BluLyte Wound Care and allow to air dry.

Repeat every 2-3 hours.

Burn wounds:

Immediately soak the affected area in BluLyte Wound Care solution for 10 mins.

Where soaking is not possible, spray the area liberally then soak a piece of gauze in BluLyte Wound Care and apply to the affected area for 10 mins.

Repeat 2-3 hourly if necessary.

For less severe burns apply twice daily.

Pre-operative preparation:

Spray the operative area with BluLyte Wound Care solution twice daily for 7-10 days prior to surgery to help prevent post-operative infection.

This is particularly effective prior to joint replacement surgery to help prevent bacterial infection.

Post-operative care:

Spray surgical incisions with BluLyte Wound Care at each dressing change and allow to air dry before applying

any topical anti-bacterial creams or ointments.

BluLyte Wound Care will accelerate wound healing and help prevent infection.

Venous & arterial insufficiency ulcers and diabetic wounds:

First spray the surrounding tissues liberally with BluLyte Wound Care spray prior to cleaning the wound in order to prevent cross-contamination.

Then spray the actual wound with BluLyte and wipe clean with gauze.

Thereafter soak a clean piece of non-sterile gauze in BluLyte Wound Care solution and pack into the wound for at least 10 mins. Ensure that the gauze remains wet with HOCl by spraying intermittently.

A contact time of at least 10 mins 2-3 times daily is recommended for these types of wounds.

You will be guided by your treating physician or wound care sister about which type of dressing to use to ensure the right amount of moisture for optimal healing.

Never leave open wounds uncovered.

Bedsores:

Wash affected area thoroughly and pat dry.

Spray liberally with BluLyte Wound Care and allow to air dry.

Repeat twice daily or as often as possible.

Skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne and hidradenitis suppurativa :

Spray the affected area liberally as often as required. In severe cases cover the area with gauze soaked in

BluLyte Wound Care solution to allow a longer contact time.

A barrier cream can be applied once the skin is dry.

Pressure sores caused by prostheses:

Spray the wound liberally and allow to dry naturally before re-attaching the prosthesis.

Always disinfect the prosthesis before re-attaching by spraying with BluLyte disinfectant.

Twice daily treat the wound for 10 mins by applying a piece of gauze soaked in BluLyte Wound Care Spray
